HANOI, Vietnam (March 4, 2019) -- Top tourism players in Vietnam capitalised on the recent US-DPRK Summit as a chance to promote the country's tourism assets. Vietnam Airlines and Vinpearl coordinated with the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT) to provide free air tickets and hotel rooms for domestic and foreign journalists working at the International Press Center immediately after the conference.
Vietnam Airlines, Vinpearl and VNAT donated free airfare and hotel packages to all journalists who registered for operation at the International Press Center. Reporters could choose Vietnam Airlines domestic flight tickets along with two nights’ free stay at one of Vinpearl’s five-star resorts (Vinpearl Resort & Golf Nam Hoi An, Vinpearl Resort & Golf Phu Quoc, Vinpearl Resort & Spa Nha Trang) or opt for the airline tickets alone.
Reporters were required to present their press pass issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, in order to register for the travel packages.
VNAT said it believes these journeys will contribute to promoting Vietnam as a safe, friendly and world-class destination.
According to official information from the Ministry of Information and Communications, the summit saw the arrival of nearly 3,000 international reporters in Hanoi. They came from approximately 40 countries and territories representing over 200 news agencies. The 550 Vietnamese media who participated in the historic event were also eligible for the complimentary trips.
