HANOI, Vietnam (Oct. 7, 2019) — The story of Vietnam’s journey to the present is at the core of a new marketing campaign from the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).
Officials from Vietnam’s tourism board launched #VietnamNOW as part of the country’s inbound marketing strategy in Hanoi today. #VietnamNOW, a collaborative concept from VNAT and Vietnam Tourism Advisory Board (TAB), presents a fresh and updated view of Vietnam to travellers around the world.
The campaign spotlights the vast array of exciting experiences and world-class products Vietnam offers visitors, alongside its renowned natural beauty, and rich historical and cultural attractions.
“Through #VietnamNOW we hope to expand the image of Vietnam overseas, by showing more of the outstanding options that are available in Vietnam today,” said Mr. Dinh Ngoc Duc, Director General of VNAT’s Tourism Marketing Department. “Vietnam holds countless possibilities for travellers to enjoy and explore. We want to celebrate the best of travel in Vietnam today through the #VietnamNOW message.”
VNAT officials announced that in addition to promoting Vietnam’s famous street food, UNESCO Heritage Sites, cultural treasures and natural landscapes, #VietnamNOW would also highlight new options for travellers, such as golf getaways, wellness retreats, luxury resorts, adventure tourism and urban breaks. Events such as festivals, marathons and the 2020 Formula One Race in Hanoi will be leveraged to build awareness of Vietnam’s diverse tourism assets.
To kick off the new campaign, VNAT is hosting a #VietnamNOW Photo Contest on its Facebook page (@vietnamtourismboard). Applicants are encouraged to send their best pictures of #VietnamNOW for the chance to win holidays in Vietnam and branded gift sets to take home. The prizes for the two winning photos are a holiday at the five-star InterContinental Phu Quoc Long Beach Resort with domestic flights to Phu Quoc, and an overnight cruise and scenic seaplane tour in Ha Long Bay from L'Azalée Ha Long Bay Cruises and Hai Au Aviation. The contest is open for entries until Oct. 30, 2019.
The photo contest is the first in a series of activities VNAT and TAB will undertake under the banner of #VietnamNOW. Travellers can find inspiration and information about Vietnam on the national tourism website, www.vietnam.travel. Followers of @vietnamtourismboard on Facebook and Instagram can look forward to monthly giveaways with prizes from top Vietnamese brands, and can use the #VietnamNOW hashtag and stickers to share stories from their travels.
VNAT is set to debut the #VietnamNOW concept at the upcoming World Travel Market in London in November 2019. Apart from this, VNAT will be launching a series of five #VietnamNOW video trailers showcasing the country’s best tourism assets, an ‘I Wish I Was in #VietnamNOW’ contest featuring free airline tickets to Vietnam, as well as downloadable #VietnamNOW guides for first-time travellers to the country.
