The second time MICHELIN GUIDE with many “firsts”
This is the second time MICHELIN GUIDE has organised a ceremony to credit excellent culinary brands in Vietnam. Da Nang is the first destination to appear at this year's awards along with Ha Noi and Ho Chi Minh City.
And this time, with 164 establishments in the list, the culinary world also witnessed the debut of the MICHELIN Green Star and Nén Danang is Vietnam’s first restaurant to earn this prestigious achievement. The MICHELIN Green Star was born to highlight establishments at the forefront of the industry for their sustainable practices and dining experiences that combine culinary excellence with outstanding eco-friendly commitments.
As a freshman and a representative from central Vietnamese cuisine that embodies the culinary influences of French, Chinese, and other Southeast Asian cultures, Da Nang food leaves a lasting impression with fresh ingredients, and has contributed to the Bib Gourmand more than half of the list.
Vietnam culinary keeps the head held high
The culinary culture of Vietnam has gradually penetrated the whole world culinary map with a series of scrumptious food and choices, which make sure every taste buds dance.
Seven One-Star restaurants in clude Gia, Hibana by Koki, Tầm Vị, and Ănăn Saigon (2023 winners) and 3 newcomers of Akuna (Ho Chi Minh City); La Maison 1888 (Da Nang) and The Royal Pavilion (Ho Chi Minh City).
Bib Gourmand eateries feature a total of 58 establishments: 18 in Hanoi, 24 in Ho Chi Minh City, and 16 in Da Nang. Out of the 29 new entries, 16 are from Da Nang; 5 from Hanoi; and 8 from Ho Chi Minh City, making the list double last year’s list.
A selection of 99 establishments (of which, 40 newcomers) listed in the MICHELIN Selected category: 33 in Ha Noi (of which, 5 newcomers), 47 in Ho Chi Minh City (of which, 16 newcomers), and 19 in Da Nang (all newcomers).

Regarding MICHELIN Guide Special Awards 2024, Sommelier Award is presented to Toan Nguyen from La Maison 1888, the only One MICHELIN Star restaurant in Da Nang. Service Award is given to Anh Nguyen from Si Dining, a MICHELIN-Selected restaurant in Da Nang. Young Chef Award is given to Chef Duy Nguyen from Little Bear, a new MICHELIN Selected restaurant in Ho Chi Minh City.
