Chúc mừng năm mới!
Tết, short for Tết Nguyên Đán, is the most important celebration in Vietnamese culture. Tết celebrates the arrival of spring based on the Vietnamese lunar calendar. Tết is also an occasion for family reunions. Many Vietnamese prepare for Tết by cooking special holiday food and doing house cleaning. Many customs and traditions are practiced during Tết, such as visiting a person's house on the first day of the new year (xông nhà), ancestor veneration, exchanging New Year's greetings, giving lucky money to children and elderly people, opening a shop, visiting relatives, friends, and neighbours.
For those with scheduled travel itineraries that coincide with Tết, they can still enjoy a memorable holiday in Vietnam with some smart advanced planning. Book services early, be patient due to limited staff and embrace the Tết spirit.
