Nam Du is an archipelago located in the southeast of Phu Quoc Island and about 65 nautical miles from the coast of Rach Gia. Nam Du archipelago consists of 21 large and small islands located next to each other with a total area of 9.12km2; The largest island is Nam Du with a height of 309m, population of 8,000 residences. Being a neighbour of Phu Quoc Island, Nam Du keeps its pristine, natural beauty to its core, a promising island to all visitors to come and enjoy.

There are two main seasons on the island: dry season (from November to May) and rainy season (from May to October). Hence, the best time to visit Nam Du Island is from December to April when the sea is peaceful and turquoise, the temperature is comfortable and the weather is consistent and sunny.

To touch the soil of Nam Du Island, visitors can take a flight from Ho Chi Minh City or Phu Quoc to Rach Gia Airport (Kien Giang Province) and then take a bus or taxi from the airport to Rach Gia wharf to catch express or speed boats to Nam Du. In Nam Du Island, visitors can choose boat and motorbike to explore around.

Hon Lon (Big Island)

This is considered the most beautiful beach in Nam Du archipelago. Catching squid or seeing colourful corals are unmissable activities. Cay Men beach is empty all of the time for you to free your soul, play and bathe as much as you want or relax and wander in the clear and cool water.

Nam Du Lighthouse

Located at the top of Hon Lon, 300m above sea level, this is also the highest lighthouse in Vietnam. Embracing a panoramic view of Nam Du archipelago with immense blue sea and sky, imposing mountains erupting amidst the ocean, endless evergreen primaeval forests, long stunning beaches and splendid rock cliffs, are surely one of unforgettable memories to bring home.

Bai Chet (Chet Beach)

Another beach to explore on Nam Du Island, Bai Chet holds its own charm, a heaven on earth with light waves, clear water, tranquil surroundings. A perfect spot for sunbathing or simply relaxing from dusk till dawn. Here you can visit fresh seafood markets and enjoy your favourite dishes.

Mau Island

Mau island is about 2 square kilometres and consists of 5 beaches: Bai Bac (North Beach), Bai Da Den, Bai Da Trang, Bai Chuong and the most famous is Bai Nam (South Beach). Bai Nam is the front beach of Mau Island. Although it is a trading place for many ships, it remains extremely clean with fine white sand and clear blue water.

Activities to experience on Nam Du Island include trekking and hiking, snorkelling, watching sunrises and sunsets, fishing and foraging.

Foods to enjoy are blue bonefish or “Xuong Xanh”, grilled scallop with fat and onion, steamed squid with ginger, grilled pearl eye or moon snails, cobia fish hotpot.
