HANOI, Vietnam (July 5, 2018) -- Visitors to Vietnam now have a world-class resource at their fingertips with the launch of www.vietnam.travel, the country’s official tourism portal.
Speaking at a press conference in Ha Noi on July 5, 2018, tourism leaders said the website is designed to deliver quality information and inspiration for travellers, and will make use of the latest digital marketing strategies to share Vietnam’s tourism assets with global audiences.
The domain, which debuted earlier on June 15, is managed by the Tourism Advisory Board (TAB) in close partnership with Vietnam’s National Administration of Tourism (VNAT). Through a collection of engaging stories, interviews, videos, virtual tours and professional photography, the website aims to entice users to explore Vietnam as a vibrant and accessible holiday destination.
Also hosted on the new domain are practical articles -- offering reliable advice on everything from visa application to Vietnamese festivals -- to support travellers in holiday planning. Official Vietnam Tourism Facebook and Instagram pages are connected to the site, as platforms for travellers to learn more about Vietnam and share experiences from their trips.
Some highlights which users can already encounter on the website are 360-degree tours of top UNESCO Heritage Sites, detailed pages on 18 Vietnamese destinations and a downloadable ‘Vietnam Starter Kit’ for first-time travellers. TAB Marketing Manager Dieu Anh Phung said more first-rate resources for travellers are in the works for this year, including video campaigns and contemporary Vietnam travel trailers.
“The www.vietnam.travel portal is intended to inform and inspire travellers at every stage of their trip,” Ms. Phung said. “TAB has enlisted the help of leading digital marketing experts to advise us on content and strategy, and we’re truly excited about the potential of this website and the possibilities ahead.”
The new domain, its video campaigns and social media accounts are sponsored by members of Vietnam’s private tourism sector, including Thien Minh Group, HG Holdings, Saigon Tourist, Hanoi Tourist, Vingroup, Sungroup, Muong Thanh Hospitality, and Vingroup. Each has made contributions to a ‘Vietnam Tourism 2020 Fund’ which is managed by TAB for the purpose of promoting tourism in the country.
