Proudly announce that the first inter-provincial site recognized by UNESCO, Halong Bay, and Cat Ba Archipelago is now the new heritage site in Vietnam.

It has been 8 years since Vietnam had a world heritage site recognized by UNESCO. In 2015, Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park was recognized as a World Natural Heritage Site for the second time.

Halong Bay, in Quang Ninh Province, was designated a World Heritage Site in 1994 and again in 2000.

The Cat Ba Archipelago, located north of Hai Phong city, is made up of almost 400 islands, including Cat Ba Island, which is located south of Halong Bay. This is also Vietnam's largest limestone archipelago.

Cat Ba, with the diversity of its marine life, got 198 species for Conservation of Nature's Red List of Threatened Species. With almost 17,000 hectares.
